New location, great coffee. Strolled over here looking for the coffee spot that used to be here, and found Privateer's Cove instead. The cold brew was delicious, rich, without being watered down. The ice cube was frozen coffee, genius!! I had the biscuits and gravy to eat, which was also tasty, but sounded like everyone else was ordering the waffle. Maybe next time. Staff are super friendly!
This place was an experience. The food was great, but that isn’t even the primary reason why I enjoyed myself so much. The staff was unbelievably friendly and great to talk to, and the owner was one of the nicest and most interesting people I have ever met. Full disclosure, I am for New York and my expectations towards people may be tempered by that. The people running this place to me are a rare kind of human beings, genuinely good people. Not the polished, fake, politically correct form of cookie cutter “nice” human beings that I occasionally meet. They seemed to me a rough edged, independently thinking, unapologetically raw, actually gives a damn about the human species (and also dogs) kind of people that I so rarely get to meet. Going to this restaurant may have been the highlight of my entire trip to Hawaii. I was not having a good day, my wife and I chose this restaurant almost by sheer chance, we walked in hungry and with no expectations . If not the highlight of my trip, this place was certainly the highlight of my day. I would recommend this place to anyone that would listen. Tldr: Steak was great, staff was greater 11/10.
Locally owned, inviting, community oriented, more than an eating establishment. Set up for large groups; L.E., Armed Forces, family, and church friendly. Small eclectic menu, serve yourself drinks and utensils. Nice portions and well prepared dishes at a modest price. The Burger was cooked medium but juicy, the waffle fries were excellent and the Shrimp pasta was large enough for two. NO Cell phones No outside food ! The owner informed me that they do accept Credit cards.
Amazing experience! Mom couldn't decide what to get when it comes to food) so after she asked a few questions, she made her own entry! Needless to say... Appetizers to the main course... An experience we will not forget.
