Bonnie, Laura, Kerri, and the other staff members are always welcoming and accommodating, whether you're a vegetarian or vegan. It's our top choice for dining in the Kamloops area.
The Smokin' Duck Eatery, located at the Pond Country Market, is a fantastic little restaurant tucked away in a quaint square in Barnhartvale, a suburb of Kamloops. The property, which used to be a garden center, features a charming brook, bridges, and a pond with friendly ducks still residing there. Despite its small size, the restaurant offers delicious food and is run by incredibly friendly ladies who are skilled in the kitchen. While waiting for your meal, you can browse through the gift shop that offers unique antiques, gifts, and tasty snacks. The restaurant is only open until 8 pm on Friday nights, so be sure to check the hours before you visit to avoid disappointment. Although the garden center has a great selection of plants early in the season, it can be a bit lacking as summer approaches. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Smokin' Duck Eatery and the Pond Country Market for a delightful and flavorful dining experience.
This cozy little gem is easy to overlook when you pass by, but it's definitely worth seeking out. The main business is a plant nursery, so the outdoor seating offers a lovely view of a garden with a duck pond towards the back of the property. Inside, the room is filled with mouthwatering aromas, regional antiques, and gifts. The coffee is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Occasionally, the owners host pop-up dinners and there are summer musicians who perform in the evenings (although this is not a regular occurrence). A central fire keeps the room cozy on cooler days. Lunch is served from 11am to 3pm.
The Smokin' Duck Eatery, at the Pond Country Market, is a great little restaurant in an out-of-the-way place in Barnhartvale, a suburb of Kamloops. The property was originally a garden centre for years, complete with a creek, bridges, and a pond with resident ducks, who are still there to this day!The restaurant is very small, but the food is great, and the ladies who own or manage it are really awesome--very friendly, and they obviously, know their way around a kitchen! The gift shop has some very interesting and eclectic antiques, gifts, and knick-knacks to look at or buy, while you wait for your meal order. The restaurant is open until 8 pm on Friday nights, but closes quite early on other days. Be sure to check out dining hours before driving out...Wouldn't want to be disappointed by finding the kitchen closed!!The garden centre, early in the season, has a great variety of annuals and perennials, but it seems to peeter out as summer rolls around--my only disappointment with this little country haven.I would highly recommend the Smokin' Duck Eatery, and the Pond Country Market, for an interesting outing, and a very tasty meal, to boot!!
Easy to miss when you drive by, but this cosy little gem is worth looking out for. The main business is a plant nursery so the outdoor seating overlooks a garden scene with a duck pond near the back of the property. The indoor seating shares the space with mouthwatering aromas, regional antiques, and giftware. The coffee is great and the prices are moderate. Occasionally, the owners host pop-up dinners and there are also summertime musicians that come to play in the evenings (not a common theme though). A central fire keeps the space warm when the cooler days set in. Lunch is served between 11 and 3.
