Avenues Bistro Curbside - Kansas City

Prime Rib was lacking in flavor, even though the piece of meat had a decent amount of fat and should have been flavorful, it was tender.

I love the Lobster Thermidor! I recently had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was delicious! A lot of food for the money. I wish it would move back to the Missouri side so I can go more frequently.

Curbside pick up dinners are excellent!! We love everything Chicken Spiedini, Braised Beef, Lobster Ravioli. Generous serving size. Very friendly service. Thanks Chef Joe!

We were sorry to hear that Avenues Bistro, in Brookside, was closing when we saw an ad for curbside pickup of a fixed price limited menu in Merriam. The choice for Friday night sounded delicious. Lobster bisque, followed by a dinner of halibut, crab cake, spinach and capped off with an Orange Dreamsicle Cake. Now, I'll do my best to describe what we received. The Lobster Bisque had the consistency of milk, not even cream, milk. It had something added to give it a little color, but it certainly wasn't any kind of seafood. The only flavor was that of salt. It was basically cold, salty milk. The dinner plate was fair, but none of it had been warm in some time. The spinach seemed to endure the microwave the best. Now, the cake. The menu said Orange Dreamsicle Cake. Sounds delicious, right? No cake was provided. Instead, we received two packages of prepackaged, tiny macarons. A photo is attached. These too, we're flavorless. Not sure what is going on here, but don't expect the same level of food you enjoyed at the former restaurant. There was an ad for KFC on television later in the evening. My wife doesn't appreciate fried chicken. She commented that even that would have been better than the dinner we received from Avenues Bistro.
