Hamada Japanese Grill Sushi - Kennesaw

I was searching for a new restaurant to try and came across Hamada, which had great ratings and was listed as open. However, when I arrived at the location, I had difficulty finding it and discovered that it was actually closed until 5 PM, despite the directory indicating it was open. I was quite disappointed and won’t be wasting my time here again. Food Rating: 1/5.

It seems they really don't prioritize their customers. We walked in and found the place empty. Two staff members passed by us, informed us that they were open, but never seated us. We chose to take our business elsewhere. Food rating: 1/5.

The food here is fantastic, and the prices are just right—it's the perfect place for a nice lunch! I always have a great experience whenever I visit, and the service is excellent!

My husband and I came here for the first time today, it was honestly a little heartbreaking to see how empty it was. Our server was super nice attentive, the sushi chef even asked us if everything was good. Our assumption is they were the owners, and if so, they seem like great people. Our food was great, started with calamari we each got a crazy roll (so good! we opted to split a teriyaki chicken entree the portions were very large so I’m not sure why some reviews before have said they’re not. The decor layout of the place is just like a small restaurant in Japan so it has the authentic feel.

I decided to try this place out yesterday. Upon arrival, the cook is sitting on the front patio of the business smoking a cigarette in plain sight. I walked in to an outdated, depressing restaurant with only one table of customers. The waitress was somewhat nice, until I asked for a side of chicken to be added on to my daily special. She went to ask the cigarette smoking cook if I could add chicken and he refused saying I was not allowed to modify the daily special. Anyways, I got the sushi special and the sushi fell apart in between my chopsticks. It tasted okay at best. They were kind once I paid and was leaving. I won't be back, there are much better options towards Barrett.
