I was a Chef, I travel, and currently in the wellness industry now 24 years. Veganism is dismissed at many venues. This cafe’ left no details forgotten in my soulful lunch. Traveling and seeking a Vegan level of support is hard these days. I loved this Chefs vision of clean, plant based food medicine from the earth! And alas the portions, presentation and plating all perfect! Hats off to The Green Pineapple Wellness Cafe’
I liked the concept of the place, offering a big variety of vegan AND gluten free dishes, fresh smoothies etc. My family (they eat „normal“ though was not super amused about the options. My husband and I ordered fresh orange juice and avo toast. They didn’t have enough oranges, so we switched to grapefruit juice, which was fine. The „gf artisan sourdough bread“ under the avocados was a very slim crispy toasted bread which was not overwhelming. All in all the toast was ok, but not great. The coffee was good. My daughter had 2 of the croissants, they were good. She also had the pineapple golden milk which had a little bit too many spices (turmeric for her taste. I liked the turmeric, but for me it was too heavy with the coconut milk. Although the menu sounds great I don’t think I would go there again.
Their baked goods display isn’t labeled as well as I’d like but after asking a bunch of questions (which the lady had to go get answers to) I’m happy with the choices we made from this section. My husband and I also split a Goddess Bowl utilizing the Golden Pineapple Smoothie and it was honestly terrible. So gross. But the vegan croissant and side of potatoes (have them both heated up) were really good.
So excited to have found this place during our Key West visit! We stayed at Southernmost Beach Resort and this was just a short walk away. We went back a couple times. I had the sacred seed bowl for lunch one day and it was big enough to save for leftovers. Another day I picked up a premade quinoa Brussels sprout salad to take on a boat trip we had planned. There are plant based milk options for lattes which sadly was hard to find in Key West overall. My kids enjoyed their smoothies. But the most exciting find was the bakery I had the raspberry oat bar and came back again for another! Everything was clearly marked dairy free, vegan, etc. in the bakery case. I have dairy free kids so can’t remember if what they had was also vegan but they enjoyed chocolate chip cookies and banana bread. There’s even a vegan croissant I enjoyed! Limited seating, best for to go. Note this looks like a boutique but there IS a restaurant/counter inside!
