Got sick of cramped conditions and hot drinks machines that make more noise than a Victorian steam engine, so I tried this place...what a revelation great food and wonderful kind patient staff. Loads of space to move and sit; no blaring music like Costabucks. Good location on the high street...will be back
A. A very unwelcoming place. No one sees you to your seat, smiles, greets you in any way. They seem too busy fiddling at the counter. You have to find your own menu, choose what you want, and order at the till, therefore paying in advance. Thank goodness they don’t charge a tip. Food is very slow, even when four other people in ‘restaurant’. Eggs Benedict.. sour dough very thin, toasted and unable to cut. Poached eggs very small and overcooked. I was very surprised we were not called to the counter to serve our own food. No one asks if food is OK. Which it wasn’t. Not asked if we wanted a drink. Which we didn’t. In all ways very under whelming. We will never return and couldn’t wait to leave. Unsurprisingly no one said goodbye either.
Last came here in 2018 and pleased to see it still going. had avo on sourdough very nice and poached egg was perfect although sourdough was a bit thin. Staff pleasant and willing to make a special coffee and tonic on ice...
Typical rubbish UK dining experience. Rotten cooks with low standards . I paid 6.50 for a dry and tasteless egg mayonnaise sandwich on dry, old, hard sourdough (ie easy to make) board like bread. No point in complaining, they have no idea of what good food should taste like. They can't make a sandwich. The design of the place is great. The staff are useless. I saw the server sticking her nose in my coffee half way through pouring it. Eww.
