We stopped by La Maison Patisserie in the Cheltenham shops on our way to visit family for afternoon tea. They had a wide variety of cakes, pies, tarts, slices, biscuits, and pastries to choose from, making it difficult to decide. Being a fan of custard, we ended up selecting a chocolate eclair, which, although not the most elegant, had a perfectly light choux pastry. The mille feuille pastry was crispy and fresh, with a rich vanilla custard filling. The lemon tart had a nice lemon flavor, but didn't quite reach the level of tartness I prefer. We also tried the tri-level mousse, which was a bit more gelatinous than expected, but still delicious. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the lemon meringue, a popular item. In addition to sweet treats, La Maison also offered coffee, pies, and sausage rolls for takeaway. Overall, a great little find in the area.
I have tried a few cakes here now and the lemon meringue cake was absolutely fantastic! It was made by hand too. Kevin, who I believe is the owner, was friendly and extremely helpful. I highly recommend checking out this place!
Got a almond flour chocolate cake here for my partners birthday. Was amazing. Looked like it was going to be too rich but the inside had a delicious flavour which made it irresistible
Friendly, local French bakery with delicious pastries and tarts. Fantastic range to choose from and a wonderful treat to have with a coffee. I bought the berry clafoutis and it was delicious.
