My friends treated me to lunch at Annabelle's, where I had never been before. Our reservation was at 1200 hrs but we made it there for 1130 hrs. We asked if we could be seated earlier but the proprietor flat out refused. There were plenty...More
I'm a big fan of high tea and try and fit it into my travels when I can....Visiting family who just moved to the Kingsville area, it seemed like the perfect excuse to try out a new place! It's in a house, very quaint, everything was so well-presented on the table...while they offer more than "just" afternoon tea, that was what we wanted. Loads of food for 2 people (we took the leftovers home, of course) and a great variety of teas. Make sure to call ahead for a reservation. The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars was that we waited a good 5 minutes upon arrival before anyone greeted us - even though servers walked right by us several times. Otherwise, service was fine.
A beautiful restaurant. Decor is Victorian and so elegant. Tea Menu is large: Creme Caramel is my favorite! the British Sampler lunch plate is my favorite: soup, salad, scone and lemon curd, chicken salad, and fruit salad.
This is such a treasure in Essex County. It is an example of a restaurant that excels because they love what they do. The food and service is excellent. The scones are a must!
