We went for Sunday lunch after reading how popular this place was on our local FB page. Not the nicest of dining areas , certainly not like their photos. Tiled floor , mis-matched furniture, more like a transport cafe for lorry drivers. The whole place is very rundown and drab , peeling wallpaper, damp patches etc. No starters available . Meat was tender and plates piled high but frozen soggy sprouts, cabbage with loads of stalk and nothing seasoned at all . Very bland .Not a good experience. We like to support local businesses but sadly won 't return here. The staff were lovely but it needs a lot of money and a total revamp in order to survive . I hope it does!
Never been to the plough myself, heard all fantastic things about the pub and food, until today when me and my partner went for an early lunch, both enjoyed the Sunday menu and got beef baguette with home made chips, they also catered to our needs by swapping stuffing around onto on of our baguettes, allowing my partner to have both beef and turkey with the same price and also adding an extra Yorkshire pudding on my dish, the meat was absolutely to die for, melt in your mouth kinda of meat Didn’t wait long at all and bar and waiting staff were all fantastic and welcoming, the portions was absolutely massive and prices are spot on! £26 that came to with two pints on top! Can’t beat it will defiantly be going again what a wonderful place and atmosphere and most defiantly what amazing food
The Thai food here that is on Fridays and Saturdays is absolutely incredible! Authentic, fresh, decent sized portions, the food was all perfect, only lost a star because it took 30 minutes of searching the internet, Facebook, ringing and eventually having to add the owner on Facebook to access the menu by message.Simple fix though, just update Facebook site/website. Wait times were longer than expected but we sat and had a pint so wasn’t bothered. All in all, very happy and would 100% recommend to others, owner was very apologetic about wait times and pub was nice and only just over a fiver for a pint and a half of San Miguel!
Called for the Sunday dinner this week. Went to bar to get drinks before we ordered only to be told they don't accept payment by card. It meant going to find a cash point in the area so left without eating. First impressions of the place wasn't good.
Went for Sunday lunch option was beef or chicken after speaking to other customers who advised not to eat the burnt beef we chose the chicken that was so chewy it was impossible to eat the roast potatoes had been fried along with the stogist Yorkie I have ever tasted Yes this was only £1.00 per course but the problem was the cooking not the portions it was inedable so would not return
