The room was nice, but at least a little wardrobe would have been great… living out of the luggage isn‘t really perfect.. Service was good and they tried to make you feel welcome. Only thing that was a bit annoying, was that we had pre-booked some tours and they were booked for the wrong month. So we then wanted our money back for the first one after 1 hour of waiting and they figured out the second one, which then turned out to be perfect.
We stayed here for 5 nights in October 2023. Sincerely one of the best experiences I've had while traveling. We stayed in one of the cabins. Even in October (when a lot of the locals warned us we might not see the Northern Lights) we saw them 4 out of 5 nights. The view was incredible. If you're worried about the lights at Camp Ripan, there were completely dark areas within a ten minute walk. The spa was incredible. Even with just purchasing the 2 hour spa access, and no additional services, it was well worth it. They had 3 different saunas, an indoor and outdoor hot tub (outdoor was so cool seeing the Northern Lights), foot baths, and snacks and drinks. They also had a small outdoor cold pool to take a quick dip in before the outdoor heated pool. Well worth it! The restaurant and bar were amazing. We tried almost everything on the menu and nothing was disappointing. I think my favorite were the steak and the reindeer. The breakfast was easily one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Drinks at the bar was delicious! Great local beers, wide variety of wines, and incredible mixed drinks. Most importantly, the staff were amazing across the board. They were all so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. If you're looking for a place to stay, go to Camp Ripan. They have incredible amenities on site, are within walking distance of a number of other restaurants (Pub Eden and Bishops Arms Pub are must visits), and they had such great views of the Northern Lights!
Nearly 5 stars! The burger was fantastic, well balanced and flavourful, one of the best restaurant burgers I've ever had. My girlfriend had pork racks, and the dish, though tasty was rather meat heavy, with a very small portion of vegetables, and a fried potato that wasn't very well made (not thoroughly cooked). Still, well worth a visit, and probably unrivalled in Kiruna!
Very nice rooms (cabins). Excellent breakfast, nice little details like chia-bowls. Polite staff. We tried the spa, it was a bit pricey but in our opinion worth the money. Highly recommended.
