Wowwwww!!!! This is the best chili I've ever had at any establishment. I got the jalapeño sriracha pepper-jack Petro and it was AMAZING!!!! Every ingredient blended together perfectly was ready quickly so what more could you ask for? The portion size for a medium is enough to eat multiple times throughout the day. The large lemonade stayed cold and not watered down throughout a 5 hour drive- and it would be silly to not mention the ice is the perfect balled ice did not melt!! I wish we had Petros in Florida but anytime I come to Tennessee I will 100% stop by to get some chili from Petros!!
Our family has had 2 horrible dining experiences with them in the last couple of months. Their dining room is not open as Google says. Just today, went through the drive-thru to use a Knox Co school coupon book coupon for a buy one get one free with purchase of drink. Wanted 2 large Petros but the employee said they wouldn't honor it for large sizes, only small. That is not on the coupon. They also didn't put the chips on the side so had to drive back through the drive thru to get them. The food is fine, but save yourself time and headache and go to a different location. We will not be going back and will be telling everyone we know not to give them business.
The chili was bitter tasting and simply did not taste good. We expecting a nice bowl of good chili like the one Wendy 's offers. This chili was awful. Further we ordered a large pork bowl with only one or two bites of pork. The rest was chili. Finally we ordered two Detroit style Coneys (bun, hotdog, chili sauce, mustard and onions. The hotdog itself was good, but it was more pup length, the chili on it had beans, and it was that same bitter tasting chili. If they had opened a can of Hormel Chili without Beans, they would have had a better tasting chili, and Hormel is not high end chili.Who ever owns Petro 's would be better served taking a hot dog road trip. I recommend they stop at Duly Coney Island for delicious chili and chili sauce and full length dogs. They can also visit American and National Coney Island. Then a trip to Portillo 's in Chicago will also enlighten then on how to make a chili dog as well as the famous Chicago Dog
It has been a while since I last visited this establishment. It was still like I remembered but was disappointed that the dining area was closed.
