Cafe Extrablatt - Köln

We had breakfast here. All inclusive breakfast for € 10,95. A great price. And the food is really good with plenty of options. Would definitely recommend for breakfast.

We stayed in a local hotel (classic Antonius) and the staff at cafe extrablatte made our first visit in cologne a sensation. Mandy our waitress, and Nicolas our beautiful attendants, made our multiple visits such that we will endeavour to visit again.

We intended to experience the breakfast buffet, but didn 't know that this offer was ending at 12h00... and we arrived just passed 12h00. We therefore went for the regular menu, which had quite a few interesting things to offer. We both had the Avocado bruschetta: very good, generous portion. Tomato mix could have been marinating a bit longer, as it didn 't soak in the flavors... but slight detail. Also threw in a sweet potato fries, which was also quite good. The service was good, professional and friendly.

We enjoyed sitting outside in the big triangular space with a view of the old Eigelstein Tower. The service was a bit slow even though there was not much to do. The food was very good though. We had Schnitzel with mushrooms and chips and Flammkuchen . Both dishes were tasty and the portions filling. We were pleasantly surprised about the prices. This a nice place and mainly visited by locals. Definitely worth a visit.

If looking for a better deal than a hotel breakfast, this place has a good buffet spread. All you can eat. Coffee is extra though. A little more expensive at the weekend. Nice outdoor seating with a view of the eiglestein tourberg castle gate.
