Their lunch plate set, especially the Peaceful Lunch Plate Set, offers a generous portion size. I suggest opting for the Light Meal Set if you are not too hungry. In my opinion, the price of ¥1800 is a bit high compared to the quality of the food. However, the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with bohemian vibes, situated in a charming old building.
My wife and I were huge fans of vegan food in America. Since moving to Japan, we have had trouble finding good vegan options. For our anniversary, we decided to try this restaurant and we were not let down. The vegan food here is some of the best we have had in Japan. The owner was very welcoming. I highly recommend this place, 10/10.
I cannot say enough good things about this gem of a place that my husband and I discovered a few months ago in Kyoto... It's our favorite meal in Kyoto! It's on the second floor of a building, and the moment you walk into the restaurant you feel as though you're in someone's home because the atmosphere is so inviting, warm, and relaxed. A beautiful soundtrack plays in the background and there is also a fantastic view of the Kamo River, which is so calming to look out onto when eating a meal. What truly takes our breath away is the meal though... One chef carefully and expertly prepares every dish that arrives on your plate and the experience is one filled with utter joy in every bite. My husband and I truly beam at each other while devouring every flavor, savoring our meal to the last bite! It is the very definition of joyful eating! We are also served delicious, warm tea after our meal. We never feel overly-full after our meal here because the food is so fresh, local, seasonal, and healthy. It's truly our favorite food experience in Kyoto and we are so happy to be loyal customers! Thank you so much Peaceful Rice Padma!
Serene and quaint vegan place for Asian vegan food. The owner lady is very friendly and personally prepares delicious food. We loved the tomato curry, Miso ramen and Chinese style ramen. We were also served with a nice, complimentary Japanese tea. The ambience is also very good with rustic vibes. One of the must-try vegan restaurants in Kyoto. Note that this place is cash-only. You can draw some cash at Jingu Marutamachi station located right next to the restaurant (alight the stairs located behind you when you exit the building in which PADMA is situated)
