Have not been to Lafayette Village in years and quite surprised that the stores all left but there is an attempt to bring it all back. Really looks terrific. The Marquis Tavern is on the ground level of the Lafayette House. Very casual, nice friendly vibe. I had a Reuben and it was quite tasty. Coleslaw on the side. My dad had the French onion soup. We were happy with the meal.
Very mediocre. The penne alla vodka sauce was terrible. The orange roughy catch of the day was ok, but not great. The side of veggies that came with it was the smallest side I've ever scene. The shrimp, clam, scallop special was the best dish and again only mediocre. The atmosphere is nice and the people very friendly, but not nearly enough to make up for the food.
I'm getting married in a few months, my buddy suggested the lafayette house over the mohawk house for the rehearsal dinner. While we were there and booking the rehearsal dinner, we decided to grab a bite to eat for dinner at the tavern. The burgers were out of this world good, the fries are excellent. The fried vegetables with dill dip were fantastic. Everything is reasonably priced. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. The iced tea is fresh. Love this place
Had dinner there for the 1st time this past Saturday and it was great. For apps we had the calamari and wings, both very flavorful. For dinner we had crab cakes and lobster ravioli which were delicious. The service was good and we'd definitely go back.
Great friendly service, good size portions and creative drink specials in a cozy pub-like atmosphere. Homey feeling that's casual and comfortable. V nice. Prices could be slightly better.
