Jack After Dark - Lake Charles

This place was pretty great when last time we went there for a few years. Unfortunately, this restaurant is no longer there. TripAdvisor refuses to acknowledge this fact for some reason. Apparently, the Food Brews site was renamed. Well, that's closed as they turn the area into a sports book.

The waitress did the best she could... bad staff. Baked potato was boiled over. Fish was good and a large part. Ribs were not cooked on site (vaccinated). Overpriced.

We came here later in the evening and had good service. The beers were nice and cold, the mixed drinks were on the point, and our food was surprisingly good compared to what we expected from the reviews. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was excellent, and baked potato was huge. A bit expensive for what it is, but cheaper than spending an hour or so here than on the slots most times.

It's called Food Brews now, but basically the same. We have quite good service, but we're here at 9:45. We ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich and some pages because we were not super hungry. The sandwich was extra good compared to other Buffalo chicken sandwiches I had in the past. Everything was good, including our drinks.

There is a sense that no covid exists here because they are so lax about masks, and have real touch menus. Service is slow just like others stated. Food is good and reflect the southern style, ask for sauce on the side
