It appeared everyone was preoccupied and in a rush. I am not use to going to Chipotle but I didn't feel comfortable with
I would like to preface this review by saying we came to Chipotle a few weeks ago and were unable to eat here because there were signs all saying that they were understaffed and all orders had to go through the website. All four of us sat in the restaurant trying to order online only to have the website crash multiple times and no one offering to help so we left and ate at Honey Grow which was a good decision. Yesterday we decided to try again. I did not want to eat too much so I was going to get the kids taco meal. I asked the employee if they had gluten free (corn) tortillas. He replied, We have these flour ones but I don 't know if they have gluten or not . So I said I will just have the taco plate without the tortillas. He said I could pick three things for the tacos so I picked chicken and beans and he said I had one more side and I asked for another spoon of chicken and he said, I will have to charge you for extra chicken and I was like fine, whatever. Then we move to the section where there are toppings for the tacos and he says I cannot get any of those (no salsa, cheese, lettuce, NOTHING) without paying extra, so I was like, so if I had gotten the actual tacos it would just be meat and beans and nothing else? He said that 's correct. I was frustrated at that point and said that 's fine, my husband is getting a bowl and will get me an extra salsa with his bowl. THEN he rings me up and says, That will be $15 just for mine. I was looking at a bowl that has a scoop of beans and two spoons of chicken with NOTHING on top of it, and he is saying that is $15. (The kids taco meal is $5). So I ask him if one extra spoonful of chicken is $10? He really didn 't know. I would first like to say that clearly this kid was not trained and this was causing a lot of frustration for customers and him. So, I do feel bad for my response at the time because he really didn 't know what he was doing. I said, I am not paying $15 for that and decided not to eat because I did not feel like he knew what he was doing. The others in our party still were getting food and there were some mistakes made in the ringing up of these meals (a training issue) and when the manager came over to fix it, he was very rude to our entire family and spoke to us in a way that we have not been talked to by a manager. Needless to say, the manager did not care about our business or training his staff. There is another Chipotle within 15 minutes so we won 't be going back to this one. *side note, I tasted the chicken from my mom 's plate and it was charred so badly that the only thing you could taste was a charred flavor. Like the scrapings of the grill. A bad manager with badly trained staff creates bad experiences for customers.
As for the burrito itself, it was absolutely awful! The rice tasted old and the construction was so poor that the entire thing fell apart after just 3 bites. I couldn't even rewrap it. This was incredibly inconvenient for me as I was working from home and had used up all my breaks making trips back to the restaurant. Now, I'm stuck with this disappointing meal that is heading straight into the trash.
We ordered two bowls upon entering the restaurant. The food itself was fine, but the staff left much to be desired. The atmosphere felt negative as soon as we walked in, and the employee who greeted us had a terrible attitude and seemed disinterested in his job. Another employee further down the line was also rude, wearing an earbud while working and constantly asking customers and colleagues to repeat themselves. Everyone in the restaurant seemed unhappy, except for the cashier who, even then, appeared annoyed by the behavior of the others. I usually enjoy Chipotle, but after this experience, I think I will take my business elsewhere. As for parking, there are limited spots and it can be difficult to maneuver in and out of the lot, which is located on a one-way street.
