Foreshore Tavern - Lauderdale

This pub consistently serves quality traditional food. While it may not be exceptional, I have never been disappointed with a meal here. The restaurant tends to be popular among locals. It is a pity that the dining area does not offer a view. Rating for service: 3, location: 3.

I usually stay in Hobart for 3-4 nights 4-5 times a year and have been staying at this place on and off for about 18 months. Unfortunately, my travel budget no longer allows me to stay here and I will have to look for a more affordable option. Despite the excellent rooms, facilities, and cleanliness, I was not able to negotiate a corporate rate. Additionally, the location is quite far from the city center, so it may not be suitable for everyone. It's worth noting that local takeaways close early, so if you plan to eat out, make sure to do so early. The motel has a kitchen that can prepare meals from their menu, but the prices are quite high for average food. They also do not deliver the food to your room, so you will have to carry it yourself, regardless of the weather.

This is our local hotel and we mostly go there for the bottle shop which is excellent: it has a great range and the staff are friendly and helpful. We have eaten in the restaurant a few times and the food is just average. The bar is very much a sports bar and serves the local community and seems to be frequented by a large numbers of tradies. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. There is plenty of room and there is an outdoor area which is fine in good weather and has lovely views out across the bay.
