We hiked along the grotto to the Ponte dei Salti (bridge) Beautiful weather. The hike was great, but you need to be able to hike on uneven terrain.
In a lovely setting in the middle of splendid nature. Very limited items on offer, but for a thirsty hiker with a sweet tooth enough to satisfy any visitor to Verzasca valley. Probably not a top place for dinner, but surely good food if hungry.
This is one of the Pearl of Ticino (CH). The place is developed along Alps ridges. It is a kind of canyon, where thousands of years have created this incredible natural place. It is not so big that's why often, especially during the weekend is overcrowded and there is not enough space to park. By the way, it worth to visit it. Rocks and stone with a strange color, and a incredible torquoise water make this place unique.
The Grotto was fantastic and a way to stretch out our time next to the Verzasca River and the cool double-arch bridge. We ordered the Platto Ticinese, with bread, local dried meat (pork) and Alpkase. The house red was excellent! We ended the meal with a bread pudding tart and Nocino. We got by with our so-so Italian but really, you can order by discretely pointing to other people's food. The outdoor seating area is quite nice with a beautiful large tree providing shade. They sell their Nocino, which I wish we bought but it's a good reason to go back again sometime!
