This was my first experience with Venezuelan cuisine, and it was fantastic! I ordered the Cachapa Con Queso, which is a sweet corn pancake filled with cheese and grilled chicken. It was enormous and absolutely delicious. The combination of the pancake's sweetness with the cheese and chicken created a wonderful blend of flavors. I will definitely be returning to try more dishes!
For ten years, I've had friends urging me to try Mango Latino Grill, insisting I would love it. These friends even traveled over an hour just to dine here, so I knew there must be something special about the place. I finally had the chance to stop by for breakfast. The café con leche was fresh and delicious; my husband opted for the breakfast platter, which included eggs, carne, arepa, black beans, and shredded queso. As a fan of patacón, I went for the grilled chicken patacón (made with sweet plantains) sandwich. I devoured half and took the rest home. The food was infused with a sense of home, made with love and attention to detail. It truly is the best Venezuelan food in Gwinnett County.
Seeing the ridiculously good review is both funny, and just a little suspicious. It's not that I don't think this place is a 5 star experience, just that I never imagined the volume of reviews they have received was ever realistically possible. That all said, they do deserve the positive feedback. The food is excellent. Anyone who says it isn't wouldn't know how to pour water out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel. That said I do understand the complaints about how long it can take to receive an order, I work next door with a lot of people who feel the same way as we only get about 30 minutes to get food, and eat it. 20 minutes to get the food can be pretty awful, but that's not really the restaurant's fault. Last, the price. Yeah. It's expensive, in my opinion. Still super delicious though, and what do I know, I'm just a cheapskate.
The food was really good! Michele was our waitress, and she went above and beyond to guide us through the menu, and help us choose authentic Venezuelan dishes! Loved it!
