We visited for a family meal out and all was ok to start with the girl behind the bar was welcoming. Our mains were mainly good with the exception of the steak been over cooked and quite gristly (my husband chose not to complain). However I did have an issue when both desserts were wrong the main one being kids build your own with tiny strawberries most of which were the stalks, I raised the issue and after a couple of discussions it was taken to be made again but the staff attitude changed and I almost felt like I had done something wrong I couldn’t wait to leave.
The food is good only thing that lets the place down is one woman behind the bar. Mid 50s with glasses on. Real attitude on here. She definitely shouldn't be working with people apart from her though the place is excellent the foods nice beer is spot on and prices are good
Was stood at bar for 15 mins waiting to be served walked out in disgust would not recommend this place to anyone
We booked at the Woodcock for Christmas dinner and were looking forward to our meal. There was slight apprehension as we had heard a new kitchen manager would be in but to our delight the food was impeccable. We understand how busy it can be on Christmas Day but the wait wasn’t too long and the meals were presented beautifully. I think I heard someone call the new chef Gareth ? but whomever the new kitchen manager is I’d give him 10/10 and like to pass along thanks for making my family’s Christmas extra special.
