The location doesn't seem to attract a lot of visitors ever and unfortunately even the place sign looks depressing. I pray for this restaurant every time I drive past
A very unique restaurant, A semi medi-evil castle with Japanese/Chinese food and drink menus. Great food and service especially for only the two of them running the place. Great job guys
This is the hardest yum cha I eat, un exaggerated service and poor food poor service.
A surprise find, the level of care in the production of the food was very good. With much of the core ingredients made in-house as I found out, things like rice noodles, chili paste, steamed buns and their fillings all made by hand. A good selection of green tea's like Jasmin oolong as well as more specific regional tea's. Portion sizes were pretty good and pricing reasonable. It was a quiet day when we arrived so I can't comment on how the kitchen handles a busy service, but certainly it was good for our lunch. Seasoning was a little light across the board for our table but the chili paste provided soon brought that flavour back up. The only downside, it's a bit odd sitting down to have a Chinese Yum Cha based in the façade of a medieval castle whilst there is European classical music playing in the background. Other than that oddity we all enjoyed our meal and I'd go back just for the chili paste, tea and char kwei teow.
Ordered long beans with salted minced pork and deep fried tilapia fish schezuan style. Beans were old and soft, flavour was good. The chef cooked a wrong order of fish and shouted at the waitress when she notified him. The fish was not replaced, rather remade with a new sauce; and it was no where close to schezuan style. Most of all the fish smelt and didnt taste fresh at all. Very disappointed. Only enjoyed the custard buns. 1 star for food 5 stars to the waitress.
