545 North Bar & Grill - Libertyville

I love this restaurant and it did not disappoint this time. I had the steak salad (without cheese, and it was really good. one of my companions had the 545 salat, (even without cheese and also really good. the other two had the laugh that was a bit dry but tasteful. the wine was cheap and very good. the service was a bit forcibly, but responsive. the ambiente was really comfortable, but nice. (I really love the outside space, but the weather did not accommodate us this week.

I was here a handful of time and always enjoyed my meal. this visit was the exact opposite. our server did not seem to have a warning over the menu. had to come back to ask how we would like to do steaks and not ask what we would like if there were options. two of us ordered our steaks medium and they came out well. they also had a big problem. gnats and mosquitoes were everywhere and we sat inside. we had to ask for more water because they still get bugs in them.

Consistent, qualitatiw high-quality experience in the whole environment we have come here for years.

Average food with minimal taste. Drinks were expensive. Had a martini with a twist and the bartender forgot the twist. The waiter said he would get me the lemon twist and he retrieved it, brought it to me in his bare hand, then dropped it in my drink along with his fingers. Nasty.
