La Bodega - L'Île-Rousse

We spotted that little restaurant very well located, attractive menu and decent prices. Service was a bit slow but the waitress was pleasant and professional... however the food was extremely disappointing. Nothing seemed to be fresh (appart from a tomato chopped in 4 and thrown on the plate), red peppers and gambas out of a tin, over cooked fish, total lack of flavors, presentation was bad... and I got sick over night

We saw this restaurant early in our stay and decided to visit as it has such a cool setting, tucked into the back streets of the old town. The staff were lovely and they served great cocktails but the food was really disappointing. I opted for the mixed tapas and it was quite possibly the worst tapas I have ever been served. It looked like much of it had come out of jars and the wraps ? were really soggy. My daughter had Thai salad and really didn’t eat it because it had dried noodles in it. A ray of light in the otherwise disappointing food experience was the Chocolate Fondant which was delicious. With a little tweaking to the menu it could be great but not on our visit unfortunately.

I’ve eaten here a number of times and have always been impressed both with the standard of food and the service. Now it has expanded a little, but the standard seems only to have expanded with it. Last night we had a seafood paella between the two of us with a local rosé (Columbo) to was it down. Copious quantities of fish, really tasty. Everything else on the menu which has daily specials looked enticing, and we’ll be back in a few days. Price seemed very reasonable compared with other restaurants nearby.busy and vibrant. They’re also really popular for their cocktails, but we stick to wine. Good sized tables and very friendly. Superb!

We ate in this restaurant several times. If you eat inside you eat in brick built arch which lends itself to a nice atmosphere. If you are lucky enough to have good weather and eat outside you are on raised platforms on the pavement. These are folded up during the day and give the impression that the restaurant is closed. Eating outside is an experience as you are so close to the passing traffic (depending on where you sit this can be inches! . Anyway to the food the food is excellent, the staff very friendly. We will be going back to Ile Rousse and one of the reasons is to try further things on the menu.

Jamais déçus (habitués à dîner depuis plusieurs années en août ) ! Accueil, qualité des plats et des cocktails! Même si les prix peuvent sembler élevés, cela en vaut vraiment la peine ! C'est excellent !
