Menu is pretty limited and was different from a traditional NYC jewish style deli. Rye was fresh, pickles were great, cole slaw was vinegar (not mayo) based. Different deli experience from NY but well worth it. Restaurant is small and not much decor wise aside from pics of celebs and magazines talking about the place. Table seating and counter seating. Next door is a take out.
Really worth the visit and be sure to try the slaw as well. Cherry soda helps cut the grease and is a perfect accompaniment. You can go to the take out counter and eat at the counter in back to avoid waiting for a table next door.
Stopped by for lunch during our visit to Montréal my recommendation is to arrive early because when we arrived just after 12 there was no queue but by the time we left the queue outside was huge! Schwartz's offers a simple menu and service is fast, expect to have ordered and have your meal on the table within minutes. Portions were substantial without going overboard and were delicious, although I would say this isn't the place to visit if you're not a fan of meat. The restaurant has so much history and brings in diners not just from Montréal but around the world. Would definitely recommend!
Not worth the money. Too salty for my taste! Worst french fries ever! Long line up but food was the lowest quality I've ever experienced!
Wow! what an experience. I think everyone needs to go here. A place where you share tables, the menu is short and precise, not a lot of add ons but I guess most people are just here for the smoked meat! I had a turkey sandwich and I think I could of made two sandwiches from it there was so much meat! don't expect any add-ons, it's literally turkey and bread and you add the mustard at the table! The rest of the group got the smoked meat. My hubby now does not want to eat any other smoked meat but Schwartz! When we arrived around 11 am and when we left, there was a line up out the door waiting for seats.
