I got the MLT, mushrooms, lettuce and fried green tomatoes on wheat berry bread with mashed sweet potatoes and cucumber salad. They had about 4-5 of their sauces that you could dispense for yourself. Liked it so much I bought a T-shirt, a bottle of sauce and some pint glasses on the way out! Parking: Free parking in a lot near the restaurant but beware, some lots are in rough shape. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids in there, very family friendly restaurant.
Cornbread was amazing. Slice brisket plate was fine. The Mac and cheese and cucumber salad were ok, nothing special. I would try it again if I ever comeback to Asheville. Parking: There's plenty of free parking, but it's not exactly paved and a bit rough in spots.
Is it the food or the ability to draw on the walls at this place that keeps me coming back to this excellent establishment every chance I visit family in NC. The portions are more than generous, and delicious every time. Bravo 12 Bones you do not disappoint! Kid-friendliness: Your kids can draw on the walls. What kid doesn't want to do that at any place?
We love this place. We did find inconsistency in the dryness of the pulled pork. This time was a little too dry. But the ribs and sides are amazing!
Overall a waste of time. food was very cold on delivery, the plates they served them on caused the food to have a metallic taste, and they have no normal bbq sauce. only mustard, vinegar, and tomato flavored. served didn’t even bring us silverware, and no one told us we needed to before we sat down. not a great experience. the food wasn’t that tasty, the cornbread was dry, best thing was corn pudding. don’t waste your time, too.
