Liscombe Restaurant - Liscomb Mills

We had breakfast here which was a buffet - paid extra in the room rate to have it included. Otherwise the charge would be $16. Powdered scrambled eggs - not my fave. Breakfast meat. Fruit salad. Make your own waffle. Ketchup was served in a large bowl which seemed odd and made me somewhat concerned for how long the ketchup was in that bowl. Did they discard the bowl of ketchup after each meal? It was a lot of ketchup. For sanitary reasons I would have preferred a bottle or squeeze container so I opted out on the ketchup. It was a very basic breakfast with nothing standing out. I was happy to have the coffee. The dining area had picture windows along the stream and numerous bird feeders set up right aside so it was charming to watch all the different birds coming to the feeder.

So on my trip to Canada I have had many types of poutine and this was the absolute worst! I got it with the donair meat, stupid decision! The fries were good but the gravy was super sweet almost like a French onion soup taste. I ate about 5 bites and said forget it! The view was very nice of the lake/river but that is where the good ends for me. Service was friendly but super slow and I really didn't enjoy any of the food! Extremely disappointing!

We had several meals here during a (4) day stay with family and the menu appealed to us all. The salmon, burgers, lamb, fish and chips...and importantly the teens loved the fries. Breakfast buffets included fishcakes and baked beans..and old time treat that brought back memories.

Did not feel the salmon was cooked properly, the middle seemed uncooked. Breakfast was an average buffet with some of it cold.
