I like the look of this Wetherspoon pub ,a great looking serving bar ,typical Wetherspon decor and furnishings ,paintings and prints of Edger Allen Poe adorn the walls ,it's just a great pub to chill out in . Our group enjoyed a wide range of drinks in here ,I stayed on bottles of Birra Moretti which were served freezing cold ,this pub was packed ,staff were on the ball ,kept the drinks flowing ,couldn't fault anything about our visit here ,stayed here till chucking out time. The Raven Pub is easy to locate along Walton Vale. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday ,open from 8am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
As one of my regular haunts, I've had a few drinks here. On the whole the staff and service is very good. But if you annoy one of them, you annoy them all, so beware. Call it a community pub, try to notice the locals queueing down the bar and don't push in. Special mention for Gina, as she always works hard for the customers and always has a smiling face. Rhian is ok, when she actually does a full shift.
On a bitterly cold January night my twin brother Stephen and I dropped into The Raven Pub ,a fantastic Wetherspoon pub I always look forward to visiting whenever I'm in this area of Liverpool. I love the look of this Wetherspoon pub ,it's not massive ,main room dominated by an eye catching serving bar ,big screens showing the news ,lovely decor and furnishings including painting and items relating to the American Poet and writer Edger Allen Poe ,the pub is actually named after his most famous poem namely The a Raven,it's just a great Wetherspoon pub to chill out in. We walked in and the pub was packed but we very luckily managed to grab an alcove ,I went up the serving bar and ordered a large mixed grill each served with a guinness each ,guinness was superb ,poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle ,our meals arrived shortly after and what a treat ,a mix of eggs, gammon ,steak ,sausage ,bacon ,onion rings ,a meal that's just so tasty and filling ,it was just what we needed to set us up for the night ahead as we planned to have a bit of a session here enjoying the great choice of real ale's and continental beers on offer . After our meal we tried some real ale's ,these were served in pristine condition ,we sampled some great pale ale's and as members of C.A.M.R.A we had beer tokens that gave us 50p off the price of a pint making an already great value for money pint even better value for money . We really enjoyed our meal ,guinness and several real ale's each in here before we moved on ,stayed here till closing time and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Raven Pub is easy to locate along Walton Vale. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday,8am till midnight. Friday Saturday ,8am till 1am. Sunday,8am till midnight. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
Visited last night and a huge big thanks to the lovely young lad that works behind the bar for finding me and giving me my change back. Never had my glasses on so wasn’t too sure how much I gave him. But thanks son for being so honest.
The Raven on Walton Vale is my favorite Wetherspoon pub in the area, surrounded by many other interesting pubs, bars, and restaurants. Housed in a former cinema, this pub takes its name from a poem by Edgar Allen Poe. The open-plan interior is filled with fixtures relating to its cinematic past and references to Poe's work. The seating options, from tables to booths, make it a great spot for drinks or a meal from their well-priced menu. Despite being busy on a cold Wednesday night, we enjoyed a delicious meal and drinks, including a mixed grill and cask ales. The Raven remains as good as it was when it first opened, making it well worth a visit. Conveniently located near the Grace Road bus stop, it's easy to find and a great choice for a night out. (This is my fourth review of The Raven). Opening hours: Monday-Thursday 08:00-00:00, Friday-Saturday 08:00-01:00, Sunday 08:00-00:00. Public transport: Grace Road bus stop.
