Had to to find a place to stay at short notice due to a plumbing malfunction at our holiday accommodation nearby and this hotel came to the rescue. Very reasonable rates with clean rooms reassured us the holiday wasn't going to be a disaster after all. The lady in charge was lovely as was the waitress in the restaurant. Dinner and breakfast were extremely palatable and again, good value. Wouldn't hesitate on booking again.
We dined here whilst staying and had a couple of pleasant drinks in the courtyard under the trees before dinner. It seemed to be the place that locals popped into for a drink after work, which bode well. We enjoyed salad, followed by entrecote, and tarte citron. The dining room had dark furniture and looked typically French which added to the evening. The room was full and had quite a friendly buzz. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal.
This was a lovely tasty meal, in a traditional setting, good service, the cheaper menu formula was excellent value, the fish dish was a relief from the regular trout with a mix of fish topped with cheese and delightful deserts.
Eating here recalls hotels how they used to be in France before the start of the chains that blight all the country. The food, service and location are all excellent serving typical french dishes. The wine was lovely too although bottles only as they do not do carafes. However, the price was still very reasonable for a 3 courser for 2 with aperitifs, wine and coffee.
