My husband ordered a burger which he said was fine (nothing special), I ordered a Club Sandwich on sourdough. It was almost inedible I barely ate 1/4 of it. First, they used the wrong bread, then the turkey was so thick dry I could barely chew it, then, the cheese was so awful. I think it was that American cheese you get at the store that you have to peel from those transparent wrappers it tastes so gross. That meal cost $35 (we each had a soda), so it was definitely not budget unless they mean that budget is regarding the food items they purchase to serve customers. At the other restaurant, I always got this sandwich it was always so good. It also always came with a pickle/carrot garnish. This didn 't. It was very disappointing we left regretting wasting our money here instead of somewhere else where we would have enjoyed our meal.
I've been here before. Had the corned beef hash. Most likely, it was from a can. Texture of how mushy it was was quite similar to the ones you'd find at like the 99cent store. I remember at the time I went, the service wasn't all that great. The lady that was there seemed a little I don't know a little rude. Anywhere that was the 1st and last time I took a step there. Should just close the business. Everything seems out dated, old, hardly busy.
Me and my buddy stopped by here to have some breakfast and it was delicious! The service was amazing and I would definitely come back!
“the budget cafe” name speaks for itself! but, and this is a big but, it’s a decent place to eat if the universe lines all the stars up for that day and the servers and kitchen staff are in a good mood and ready to pump out some good food. such as the day my great niece and i came in for breakfast. the place had already emptied out from the morning rush of locals and we were the only customers there. the server was nice until she started talking with us and then she became very attentive and happy. it’s no loss on me it was because of my darling little 4yo great niece. i told her mother, my niece, that wherever i can take ‘willow’, i’ll be pretty much guaranteed to at least get a conversation with or even get a date with a woman, be it in a diner, park, beach, church or anywhere there are single ladies looking for the opportunity to meet a single man. anyway im getting away from the budget cafe. so i had eggs bacon waffle. the eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, i couldn’t believe it but ill take it. i love crispy bacon and i got crispy bacon as i asked for. my little niece had pancakes from the kids menu with scrambled eggs and she ate every bit of it. you know little kids, they seldom finish any meal. that’s about all. if i had simply wrote a review of the budget cafe it would only be three sentences long because, well, because it’s the budget cafe and to a bigger extent, it’s lompoc, if you get my drift. so, here’s a few pictures of that morning with my precious little niece and I at the budget cafe in beautiful lompoc valley. Kid-friendliness: they love kids at the budget cafe.
Our food was awesome the staff was killer and they make you feel at
