However, when we arrived, we realized that there was a private event downstairs that was very loud and overwhelming. The service was slow and the menu was quite different from what we had seen online, with many dishes not even available. We were told that the restaurant has changed owners several times, which did not inspire much confidence. As a result, we decided to leave and dine elsewhere instead.
Terrible experience. Do not go here under any circumstances! The menu was different than advertised, with limited options and higher prices. Our table for 5 was not ready and we had to sit in uncomfortable chairs downstairs. The staff was unhelpful and we had to ask multiple times for napkins, only to be told they were out. The food was cold and the mango juice we ordered didn't come until the end of the meal, diluted with water. The curries all tasted the same and frozen vegetables were used instead of fresh. The wine we ordered was not the one served. Overall, a disappointing and unsatisfactory experience.
This restaurant is a fantastic place to gather with a wonderful atmosphere and welcoming staff. The food was exceptional and met the criteria for fine dining - I would definitely return.
Pink Turban is a great restaurant, excellent decor and the food was exceptional. However, the restaurant seems a little out of place for Rayners Lane (which is mainly cheap informal eating places) we went on a Thursday evening and were the only couple eating although there was a private party downstairs.
Second visit. Still love the food but portions remain small and for the area, expensive. £12.50 for 3 prawns in Rayners Lane! Larger portions and lower prices please.
