Lady at the reception was rude to us and said they are closing the kitchen soon. We were only 12 minutes late for our booking. We said we have a booking and she was still unfriendly and gave us a table. I felt rushed with ordering my main. The waiting time for food was terrible ! Was like tasting menu waiting time but we only had starters and mains… bread was really nice. Because we had to order food quickly no one come back to us to ask what wine we would like to have so I just said to my partner to skip it and have drinks at my favourite bar after. Burrata was nice but nothing extraordinary. Risotto was very plain and waiting time was unacceptable. Waiter said they are cooking it so that’s why it’s so long… My main was the biggest disaster. Aubergine schnitzel was overcooked and just swimming in oil so no feeling of aubergine and lots of breadcrumbs and had nothing to do with schnitzels. No one check on food. Only when they cleaned plates and my food was still on the plate they asked and I said it’s not eatable. No one offered anything to make it up and we still paid for burn oily aubergine dish. My partner had little tiramisu after which was just ok but I said I don’t want anything else to eat from this restaurant. Overall bad experience and will definitely not return!
Long awaited visit to the very stylish and elegant Sartoria was worth the wait . Tucked in Mayfair in Saville Row away from the bling of flashy bars . The very Italian menu was hard to choose from as every dish on that menu was probably worth a try Carbonara definitely was one of the best I ever tasted and was clearly the star of the menu. I also loved the scallop starter with salsa verde. The veal Milanese is definitely for sharing .. The portion size were big so please go there with an empty tummy to enjoy the delicious spread. Thé wine list was amazing. Service was excellent. All in all fab experience…
I would highly recommend Sartoria. We had a lovely meal there, the food was delicious, the chairs and tables very comfortable, and the setting very calm, yet close to the hustle and bustle of Regent street. The wine list is exclusively Italian (except for champagne), but there was a very knowledgeable and charming sommelier on hand to help. The desserts moved away from the typical Italian desserts, in a very nice way. And the service was very good. Would definitely go back.
I have been here a few times (both breakfast and dinner) and always really enjoyed. It’s authentic Italian food by chef Mazzei, with a flair for British ingredients and a fantastic wine list. Great bar for aperitivi too
The place is overpriced. There is 15% tip. The waiting time is long. We booked a table for 14:30 and were in the restaurant at 14:42. It appears the kitchen closes at 14:45. One of the dishes we ordered, aubergine schnitzel, was over fried. The very usual order costed us 145£ for 2 persons. For this price there are much better restaurants in the area! The atmosphere is ok, the waiters are fakely too polite, it is not natural.
