State and Main - London

My girlfriend and I visited Niagara Falls for a girls' weekend. When we returned to London, we decided to end our trip with Happy Hour at State and Main. On Thursdays, they offer half price bottles of wine, so we enjoyed a large Chardonnay along with some $5 fish tacos. It was excellent.

Four of us neighbors decided to go from 2-5. It was a nice day so we decided to eat on the terrace. There were numerous hanging plants and planters to make it colorful and cheerful. We ordered our drinks and... expected for a while before we ordered our ducks. Three of us ordered the fish Tacos and the other girl, the chicken slaughter bowl. Everything was delicious, we had a wonderful girl luncheon.

Our neighbors and we decided to go to dinner because they had never been there. We sat on a stand for 4 and our server immediately asked for our beverage order. Beer and wines were brought quickly. We ordered a common appetizer of spineach dips and chips that were just okay. Three of us ordered the fish taco dinner for which we die, and one of us ordered the Burger and Pommes. Everyone enjoyed our food and experience. We'll be back.

A friend and I discovered that this restaurant offers a happy hour, so we decided to give it a try. The happy hour is from 2-5. We took a seat at the bar and our server asked us for our drink orders. We both decided on the Hibiscus Gin and Tonic. However, our server returned to inform us that they were out of Tonic. We suggested that they send someone to the nearby Plaza to get some, and they agreed. The drink turned out to be fabulous. We also ordered Calamari, sweet potatoes, chicken with salad shells, and a fish taco. The food was all delicious, but the standout dish was the fish taco. We definitely plan on returning to this restaurant in the future!

We had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant. I highly suggest trying the truffle and shrimp pasta as well as the cheesecake. Our server, Erin, was very attentive and helpful. The wine selection was also excellent - I particularly enjoyed the shiraz.
