Viva Bigotes - Long Branch

Food was ok and after walking in I expected it to be amazing. Very friendly staff, I was greeted by myself that the owner and he was super friendly. I placed an order for delivery, which lasted about 10 minutes, and I expected longer, as all tables were full inside. Very clean looking and new interior, somewhat loud, as the tables are nearby, but you could still keep a conversation without screaming. Some of the better Mexican in NJ, but not the largest overall. The food. I ordered any kind of meat and other stuff. I felt that the chicken, pig and chorizo were Bland and could really use some spices. However, the beef taco had a nice taste. The Empanada had a maize bread type of shell that was surprising and worked really well, but the filling, again, had not much taste. I was in places in Texas that the meat has so much taste that you cannot imagine life without it. While the presentation of the food, also for takeout, was nicely missing the taste. That was my first time and I'll give him another chance. I'd prefer this place over Surf Taco, who's down the street. I understand, Surf Taco is not a Mexican restaurant and they focus on fish, but it is more a personal preference. The prices at Bigotes are fair and I feel that the food you get for the price is about right, I have similar places outside of NJ that were a little less but they obviously do not treat the high rent of NJ.

We enjoyed Viva Bigotes on many occasions, all as delicious as the visit before! This is a family owned and run business done right. Fresh ingredients and a good menu with well-made, traditional Mexican dishes.

So sad to learn that they close on Sunday 26 November. If you go to Bigotés, save space for the Sopapillas for Dessert. You're the best I ever had! Is the food fantastic here? No. Is it good? Absolutely! Service is great and they give you a mustache!
