Simply terrible. Only place I’ve been in Italy where you get a frozen pizza served to you and they attempt to pass off as authentic. Pasta my son had was like something from a secondary school cooking class. Wife’s lasagne was OK, but looked quite like a ready meal, so probably little ability to go wrong. Only looked on Trip Advisor afterwards and found it is ranked the 5th worse restaurant in Lucca. Really hoping I don’t find 1-4 during this trip….
We had just arrived in Lucca and were in a rush to grab lunch and we found this restaurant near our hotel. The menu looked good so we gave it a shot. We were pleased with our choice. We had the tonno salad to start (which was terrific and one of the best we had on our trip with a lot of tuna and just the right mix of veggies), penne arrabiata (which was nice and spicy) and the paradelle fungi (which was also tasty). Service was good. Location on a small plaza added to the experience . It was also a bit off the beaten path so not packed with a lot of tourists.
Aweful place, looks nice on the outside, but thats all. Pizza's are are fake, no wood oven, comes right out of the oven. It is a disgrace for the Italian kitchen.
We came for drinks and to people watch and were not disappointed. The setting in the corner of the square away from the thoroughfare is perfect, the service was pleasant and the prices average.
