Very limited menu, croissant, donuts and coffees. I asked for an apple juice seen in the fridge but was told it was not for sale! After selecting a poor and limited menu I found that it was cash only. At this point I had to leave. You expect basic from macs but this was sub standard.
Prime location, however customer service was absolutely horrible. Restaurant area was dirty, and food was cold. Don't usually have high expectations when ordering fast food and normally would not review a McDonalds or other fast food chains. Would not go back to this location.
Average MacDonald’s, but the perfect location can compensate this. It is situated at the very center, on the lake shore, in walking distance from main attractions, pear and Parco Civico. Tasty coffee and good espresso is 1 Euro. Keep it in mind if you would like to rest on the terrace with air condition. You can also buy a lunch a have a picnic on the nearest bank on the lakes' shore just 5 meter away.
We rarely eat fast-food, but lately, since covid lockdown, whenever we go to the city we enjoy an espresso at McCafe. The beans come From Rast Kaffee in Ebikon, hence they Support local businesses too, an espresso only costs 1 chf and I can easily say it's the best you can get in Lugano. Very quick service and always piping-hot. If you want a coffee head to McDonald's, you will spend less, have better quality than everywhere else and have a great view.
We were walking around Lake Lugano and thought we 'd drop into this lovely (on the outside McDonald 's for coffee and a snack. The view of the lake from the tables was pretty, even in the rain. Please see photos. But, as I waited in line to order, I lifted my phone to take a picture of the interesting menu. All of a sudden, the dark-haired lady behind the counter, Italian-speaking, no English, started shaking her finger back and forth at me and yelling, NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! (I lost track of how many NO 's she shouted at me...wow. Whoa...what the hell? Too bad for her, I was taking the photo as she started in on me and am happy to post it here. We got our snack and left, but I must say she was absolutely the rudest person I met in our two weeks in beautiful Switzerland. I suggest eating in a more friendly restaurant while in Lugano.
