This hotel I would say, overall, was pretty good. It was very clean, very nice, in a good location, with friendly staff, and comfortable beds. It served its main purpose giving you a clean, safe place to stay. Some notes that other guests have noted: Outdoor pool the website says it's open but it's actually closed intermittently. You have to check each day to see if it will be available, which is a pain, and not helpful if you have kids and are trying to plan if they can swim. Indoor pool closed for renovation. Hopefully they fix it soon. Renovations nothing too noisy or messy that I saw. The fitness room (while small) looked to be open, but I did not use it. A construction worker got grumpy with us for using the entranceway when he was caulking nearby but.... it's the entrance to a hotel. What were we supposed to do? Breakfast EXPENSIVE and not great quality. Looks like the rates have gone way up for breakfast since other reviewers have posted less than a year ago. Expect at least $15 per person. Parking website says it's free, but there is a paper sign printed out at the hotel desk that they actually charge for parking. Why?? It's not a guarded lot and in fact is shared with another business. How do they monitor this? What is going on here? This seems very shady. I would overall stay here again I think once the renovations are completed it will be much nicer. But I am still side eyeing the parking situation, and I would get food elsewhere.
I agree with the other recent reviews. This hotel in under renovation and we were never informed at the time we made our reservation. Really deceptive. Indoor Pool Closed, Restaurant Closed, Bar Closed, Exercise Room Closed. Even though my reservation said there was breakfast available, all that was available was a cup of burnt coffee. The bathroom in our room was a joke. There was only one bar of soap that you would have to carry from the sink to the shower and back again. No hooks for wet towels of robes. No toilet paper holder. The roll in use sits on top of the toilet tank. The bathroom vanity is so small that you can 't put a Dopp kit on it. That 's okay. You can unload what you need into the vanity drawer, right? See photo. We accidentally left a shirt behind (our bad) but when we called to request that housekeeping retrieve it from the room, we were told that was not necessary because if they found it they would turn it into the Lost and Found. Proactive not. By the way, our one night Hilton Honors rate for this room was $244.02 before taxes!
Traveler beware!! This location is under renovation (for the past 7 9 months!! and the owners are not telling anyone until you arrive and find yourself unable to even get breakfast!!! And the workout room is also closed and LOTS of renovation going on. We had reserved 2 rooms. We arrived at 10:45 p.m. because of a long day of Tavel. We asked for breakfast vouchers and that is when we were told there is NO BREAKFAST....not even a 'grab and go ' bag!! I will have to say that STEPHEN, the manager, stepped up and did what he could to make things 'right '. Bless his heart! He can only do so much because...well, he doesn 't own the facility. The 'rules ' come from those people who DO own the facility. Shame on them for not letting their guests know of the major inconveniences going on. AND....their rates are going up plus they are going to start charging for parking.....in a 'rural ' area??? STEPHEN....THANK YOU for being who you are and trying very hard to recognize that we, as travelers, have choices. We definitely enjoyed visiting the Solomon 's Island area. It was great to visit there.
No warning that remodeling was taking place. No site amenities no restaurant, no fitness, no store, etc. No notification that room care had to be requested a day prior. Computer system at hotel was glitchy checked in online and sytem kept assigning us a different room and would not make hard keys for the reserved room. Worst Hilton property stay that I can remember.
We had an incredibly disappointing recent experience with this hotel. We had a group coming in for a special birthday celebration, and were shocked by the condition of the hotel that has been under repair for months, with the lobby and entryway completely torn up, building equipment all over the place, no restaurant or pool, and to top it all, on the weekend of our stay, the computer system broke down so none of our guests could get into their tooms without an escort. While management was initially responsive to our concerns, they never responded when we tried to get support for the key system being broken, nor has Hilton every responded to our concerns. My confidence in Hilton is completely busted as a result of this, and I will be staying at other brands in future.
