Cozy, quiet and beautiful place to eat inside, beautiful outside in front of the garden of the 'la manquita' cathedrale of malaga.
I ordered gazpacho and gambas pil-pil. the gazpacho was half as large as recommended by the water because I wanted to be able to eat both dishes. amazing gazpacho, really loved it, similar dishes in my country (românia) in Spanish restaurants not even trying to get close to it. gambas pil-pil were a full-sized plate, but so a small part seemed first. but as soon as they begin to eat, they are filled with broth in hot sauce really fast, so it was really enough. I have to go back here to try other dishes. the service was pretty fast.
What a unique place. it is easy to see as it has thrived since 1887. we had little spanish and the staff had little English, but gave really great customer service. authentic mixed seafood and chicken paella for two for €10 per person was a good price lunch, boiled to order. sit outside or in the restaurant inside has a fabulous atmosphere, the road is dizzying with local and tourist.
This exquisite restaurant, started in 1887 is right next to the garden side of the Cathedral in downtown Malaga. You feel like you have stepped into the past when you step through the doors! (In a totally good way! We had a lovely lunch of refreshing gazpacho, a wonderful avocado salad a delicious marisco (seafood paella! It is helpful if you reserve a table, as they get very busy!
