Feedback gevenCan't beat fresh fish and chips and this place serves up a treat. There is an upstairs, which i didn't visit, and the american fryer sells art, not from the shop, just some info he shared.
I think Andrew must have caught them on a bad day because Fish Hut is usually immaculate. Being as they are my local Fish Chips, and right next door to my favourite bar in Manchester, I often make them my last port of call on my way home. The fish is always large and gorgeous, and the chips are crispy and fat. It's a tiny little shop with lovely staff, and a couple of tables outside as well for sunny days. To be honest though, you might as well walk 30 seconds down to the canal and sit on the old steps there facing out over one of the most picturesque areas of Manchester. Actually its got a Dining Room as well, but I have never been in it, as I always think a Fish Chips should be consumed outside. Could be useful for rainy days though...
After going to the Museum of Science and Industry on a visit to Manchester we really fancied some proper chips . A nice lady at the museum told us that there 's a chippy nearby. Wow what a find! This chip shop is very much like one you 'd find on a sea front. Plenty of seating inside on two levels and very clean with charming black and white pics from days gone by adorning the walls. It felt like a nice family atmosphere. I did ask for my peas and curry sauce to be put on top of my chips- you can get them in separate pots by the way. The staff were very friendly and professional. My ten year old said that these were the best chips he 'd had in his life, I think they 're a close level-pegging with something you 'd get at somewhere like Scarborough. We 'll definitely go here again next time we 're in Manchester. RECOMMENDED :
Great food as always. Leaving this review purely for the service we received today. The person serving us noticed we were sharing a portion of fish chips but heard me saying I was just having chips in a barm and so put them in separate containers in case I didn’t eat fish (I don’t! so really appreciated the extra thought :
First time in Manchester. Was wandering around and found The Fish Hut. Great fish and chips. Quick takeaway with two floors of quaint indoor dining. Huge portion!
