I booked this for afternoon tea with friends to finish off a shopping weekend in Manchester. Following reviews on open table I thought this would be a nice way to finish our weekend. How wrong was I. When the food eventually arrived, from a distance it looked OK. Up close, not so good. The sandwiches were so dry, I thought they were toasted. I complained to the waitress who apologised and said she would speak to the chef. About 20 minutes later a tray of fresh sandwiches were brought to us which were actually ok. The scones were still frozen in the middle and the rest just wasn't very nice. The Manager did apologise and gave us a free glass of prosseco which did go down very well. It really wasn't an enjoyable experience and I would certainly not recommend this hotel as avoid place to eat.
We had a great experience thanks to our very polite waitress, Abbie. We had to return the sandwiches because they were stale, but we appreciated the complimentary glass of Prosecco they offered us.
The food and service are fantastic, and the experience will be even better once Piccadilly Gardens is restored.
When the food finally arrived, it looked appealing at first glance. However, the sandwiches were extremely dry, as if they had been overcooked. I raised my concern with the waitress, who apologized and assured me she would inform the cook. About 20 minutes later, we were served a new platter of sandwiches that were decent, at least. However, the scones were still frozen in the middle, and the rest of the offerings were simply unappetizing. The manager came by to apologize and offered us a complimentary glass of prosecco, which was a nice gesture and went down smoothly. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for a meal.
