El Sombrero #2 - Manhattan Beach

I was looking for a new Mexican restaurant and think I have found one with El Sombrero! I ordered take out, however, the restaurant is spacious but cozy and next time I’ll be sitting down to eat! I ordered the Viking Burrito (which I thought was a weird name for a burrito), and it might have been one of the tastiest burritos I’ve had in the South Bay! Every flavor was pronounced, the citrus in the carnitas, the beans, the rice and the AMAZING green sauce to make it wet! Absolutely loved this burrito! Homemade chips and their salsa has a unique flavor and is delicious! On top of that, the front counter person was SUPER nice.

Attentive, courteous and prompt staff. Dark, dingy and dirty restaurant. Star rating reflects awful Mexican food. Tasteless refried beans, ground meat taco filling that looked and tasted like dog food. Enchilada sauce without any flavor at all. Warm chips that probably came from a bag. Decent salsa. Overall, terrible Mexican food. Either step it up or get out. Any review over 2 stars is highly suspect.

Quick was the name of this five star.Quick seat for a Saturday night in this small little dig.Quick service with chips and salsa and drinks.Quick order taking.Quick food to table.But food didn't taste fast. It was great and my family of 6 was satisfied!(Chicken tortilla is one of my wife's favorites but she didn't care for this variation. Other than that, El Sombrero for a win.

Service was top notch but I dont go to a restaurant for the service. I go for the food. I think a lot of the reviews on here forget that. ? The food was extremely bland. I bet money none of the workers eat here. Even if they get a free meal. I took their recommendation and tried the pork burrito.The red sauce it was topped with was bad ?. The red sauce alone ? was too much for me. I couldn't even taste the cheese.There just wasnt enough it. Dash of cheese. Big mistake. Lots of pork. Topped with a good amount of guac. The burrito is a perfect large size. Unfortunately th pork was bland and tastless. Oddly the red sauce at the bottome of the dish was ok. The hot lettuce inside the burrito is strange. Hard pass. Wont be coming back.Great staff though. Old 90's microwave style flavored food.

Excellent as always. Fast and efficient. Delicious Carnitas taco, black beans and brown beans.
