Bullseye Pete's Pub Grub - Marengo

One of my favorite getaway spots! I really love this place; the owners, who are a husband and wife team, are incredibly friendly and make you feel like part of the family. I often take my wife here for dinner and a beer while she enjoys singing karaoke or dancing to the live band. Meanwhile, I like to shoot pool or play darts.

We arrived about an hour before closing. When we wanted to order another round around 12:45 AM, the owner's husband informed us that we could finish up until 1:15 AM if we placed our drink orders before 1. I understand that you don't want to keep customers past closing. However, when 1 AM came, the owner asked us to leave just as three regulars were walking in. She offered them drinks and shots, which made us feel neglected. I wouldn’t recommend this place, as it doesn’t seem welcoming unless you’re a regular.

The service was fantastic, the staff were friendly, and the tables were well-set for a great dining experience.
