Catch of the Bay Fish & Chips

I had heard positive comments about this point. After reviewing their 6’ menu card, decided on shells and chips, wait in the line to place order No shells ok, that would happen, it would not be a good idea to make a note on your large menu board or...below where you order so, fish and chips it is after a long wait, pick up sorry from napkins yet, you are right next to a market where you get napkins for your customers. Fish fresh, great, but the dough was “tough” a fork could not use the break of the dough had to use a knife to the dough that resembled and tasted like cardboard. The frits were hard, not soggy, but hard new experience. Maybe, a perpetrator, to be precooked and then fried again, I don't know, but I won't stop again, just go on.

Had the catch of the Day #3 the positive was the fish it was to DIE FOR! Best fish I have ever had! Negative the scallops were inedible rubbery and burnt! Lesson will not eat scallops there but bring on the fish!!

Went there for fish and chips-tables not being disinfected in between users and very dirty. Got the fish and chips and very disappointed. Used to be good but will not go back nor recommend.

The fish was lightly battered and very tasty. I was on my way home from Truro so I did a 'take out .... it was still hot when I got it home 1 hr away and not at all soggy which usually happens with fish...and chips. I 'll definitely be back!!

Being that we are about 2 1/2 hours away, we go to Masstown Market about once every other year. I always heard great things from the Catch of the Bay restaurant/take-out and had always wanted to eat there. It was always too busy, so we...never did until this time, when it was not as busy. My husband and I were pretty excited and hungry, so we both ordered the 2 piece fish and chips. It was ready very quickly and looked amazing. 2 giant fillets of haddock on a bed of fries in a cardboard box. The portion was huge, could have went with the 1 piece and had enough. Well, I wish I had only bought the one piece, since that is all I could muster to eat. The fries were great, but the fish tasted old and super salty. I like salt, but this was too much. I would not eat here again. I expected better from what I had heard of the place.
