Matsue Vogel Park

Matsue Vogel Park is a great place to bring the family. They currently have temperature checks and require you to provide your address when entering. Foreigners can get a discounted entry ticket. Wheelchairs are available at the entrance for you to borrow for free. A internal car service can take those in wheelchairs up to the other end of the park and back again (you do need to be able to step into the car though). The park is with fantastic flower displays, several different bird shows, penguin walk, and small animal farm. It is best to plan your trip around the bird shows, so check the times before you arrive. It can take 10-15 mins to get to the penguin walk, so don't leave arriving to the last minute. Have some hundred yen coins handy as there are various places you can get bird feed to feed the birds or fish. There is also a viewing platform where you can see across Lake Shinjiko. Enjoy!

I had a great afternoon at this bird and flower park. I highly recommend checking this place out! Fun, relaxing and beautiful! It's super easy to get to from Izumo Taisha or Matsue on the local train! :

The owl show is great but it only have two sections per day. You must arrange the time when come to here to see the show.

One of best garden of Shimane and it's preserverance for bird Sanctuary. Loads of amazing and never seen birds and few organized Bird show. Picturesque and amazing experience.

Didn't think we'd spend more than an hour here, ended up spending 2 hours. Among the highlights are the shoebill stork and the penguins.
