Zhuāng Wū Sōng Pǔ Diàn - Matsuura

I ordered my usual tempura and mini tsuke-don, and as always, it was delicious and made me happy. I ended up ordering another mini tsuke-don at the end because I just couldn't resist. I really wanted to eat while overlooking the sea, but I'll save that for next time!

I arrived at the restaurant in Chokawa Port around 8:20-8:30 pm after fishing for horse mackerel. The restaurant was empty. I ordered the mixed fry set, sashimi set, and tempura set. It would have been nice if the female waitress had been a little friendlier. The horse mackerel fry was a specialty of the restaurant and I had high expectations. The thick and juicy texture of the fish and the crispy coating were excellent. I was warned to be careful while eating as there was a possibility of bones being present. I was also told to dip the fry in tartar sauce, so I asked for some which was brought to me in a small dish. The sashimi in the sashimi set was thinly sliced and disappointing.

Shoya restaurant serves a popular dish of fried horse mackerel from Matsuura. Many small, independently owned eateries nearby were closed on weekends, so we chose to dine here instead.

店内は明るく遠くに海が見えるのがいい。味も悪くない。 追記、カツ丼と梅味の漬物は美味かった。
