Koko's Cafe Uptown - McAllen

We were seated promptly and the waiter was friendly and attentive. Food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. When paying their gift card system wasn’t working properly so I was unable to use it for the purchase. I would highly recommend if using a gift card to confirm system is working before ordering.

We opted for outdoor seating, which is accessible through a separate gate, allowing us to avoid walking through the restaurant. The chairs were comfortable, and there were five large tables suitable for groups of four to six. I ordered the Deluxe Mexican plate, which offered a generous portion and a nice variety of dishes, including enchiladas, crispy tacos, tostada, and beans and rice. The only drawback was that the tortilla chips tasted a bit overcooked in oil. However, the service was very attentive and quick. I would definitely consider returning to this restaurant on my next visit to the area.

A well-established restaurant that is a favorite in McAllen. I can't praise this place enough. The service is consistently excellent, and the food is always tasty. I highly recommend trying the Koko's special.
