They informed me that they use all natural and organic flour in their breads, most of which do not contain any sweeteners. Some of their offerings, such as Rye, S.F. sourdough, Peruvian sourdough, cracked wheat sourdough, multi-grain bread, Ciabatta, and raisin pecan bread, are vegan and sugar-free. They sweeten their vegan pastries with organic agave nectar, while their bagels use barley malt. Honey is used in their whole wheat, multi-grain, and cinnamon swirl breads. They addressed the controversy of using honey in vegan products, stating that they source their ingredients from suppliers who claim that bone char is an outdated technology and not commonly used in the New England area.
I have been a long-time customer of this restaurant, even before I adopted a vegan diet. The transition to vegan options at this establishment has been incredibly smooth.
Delicious bagels with a wide variety of vegan toppings to choose from. Don't forget to inform the owner if you're vegan so they can see the demand for their products. The vegan biscotti pairs perfectly with a cup of tea. Even if you're not a fan of chia pudding, you might just change your mind after trying theirs. And don't forget to grab a power cookie to go on your way out.
The cashier and the woman with glasses at this restaurant need a serious reality check. Despite consistently good food, their unwelcoming and rude attitude is concerning. Even teenagers are nicer than these grown women. Customers are often ignored for online orders, with the staff appearing disinterested. It is disappointing how employees can create a negative experience despite the quality of the food. I hope the staff can improve their customer service and show they care about those they serve.
The bagel at this restaurant was thin and flat, lacking the chewy quality that I usually expect. While it tasted fine, it didn't quite meet my bagel standards. I do enjoy this place for other reasons, but after seeing the other bagels, I wasn't impressed. The desserts are just okay in my opinion. I come here because it's better than Starbucks, but it's not somewhere I would rave about. I usually come with a friend, but I can't say that I would recommend it.
