The lighting at this restaurant is perfect for a romantic first date, giving you a youthful glow. There are no harsh overhead lights, which is excellent for creating a cozy ambiance. We visited on a Monday night, so it was not crowded, which we appreciated. The background music was pleasant and the bartender was cute. I highly recommend the amaretto cocktail, delicious mushroom slider, and fabulous popcorn chicken. Although the menu may not offer a wide variety of options, it is a bar after all. The restaurant opens at noon, making it a great spot for lunch as well. My family will now know where to find me on my days off.
There's very few night clubs in Melbourne that capture the Hiphop and RnB scene as the Lounge. The music is really amazing and the crowd even better.
This place managed to almost kill me twice in a row. I ordered salad and it didn't say anything about pistachios. I'm highly allergic to nuts. I got it and pointed it out to the waiter, who apologized and brought me a new salad. It was the SAME salad. They just got some of the nuts off and sold it to me as nut free!!! I told the waiter and I got it for free but I didn't touch it again. I gave it to my friend instead who said it tasted nice. Well, I certainly won't be back! Dangerous for me to eat there!
If I was coming here for the first time I 'd probably love it, but after visiting for many years for mid-week lunches, it 's gone downhill incredibly. I booked ahead (to guarantee an outdoor table) but when I arrived, there was no sign of my booking. The outdoor area as was, is now largely enclosed, which is a trap for all the smokers whose drifting smoke completely ruined my meal and had me reeking of it all afternoon. The lunch menu has also reduced considerably with some exceptionally basic meals on offer. The food was very nice, and was cheap, but nothing exciting. I had a soft drink that had so much ice in it the glass was overflowing with it and probably about an inch of drink at the bottom. For that, it was ridiculously overpriced. Change back to what you were Lounge and do something about your 'outdoor ' area to make it pleasant for smokers and non-smokers alike (if you really persist in allowing smoking where people are eating). With the choice of second hand cigarette smoke or sitting in the darkened indoor area (which I 'm sure is fabulous of a night with a DJ but dire on a sunny spring day), I 'll go elsewhere. You 've lost this patron and the work colleagues I 'd often go with for good.
