Madamimadam - Melbourne

Terrible lunch here. Ordered a veggie wrap thinking I couldn't go wrong. Asked for it to be toasted. Comes out and the insides are cold, veggies are tasteless and parts taste completely rancid. Disgusting and a terrible waste of money. So many better options in this part of city

I'm a keen foodie and breakfasts on particular. Whenever I go away I try and find a great place but was in a rush so stopped off at Madamimadam because it was packed. I'm not sure why. I got porridge and it showed how little care this place outs in to its food. It tasted like instant oats done in the microwave rather than spending some time preparing a bug pot of long stewed porridge. And all it came with was jam. For $12! Pathetic! I still can't believe how busy thus place was!

I've occasionally visited Madamimadam over the years when I've been in this part of the city but it just seems to have fallen off the pace. The coffee is ok but no longer consistently great as it once was. The place is very busy and always has a rushed feel about it - not particularly welcoming. The service is starting to approach Fawlty Towers, with a lack of warmth and a lot of rushing. Having said all that, it's still a very decent option for central city but it's probably more suited to a take away coffee than a sit down coffee or breakfast.

Found this fantastic coffee shop that has an amazing breakfast menu, busy laneway, friendly staff, amazing food and coffee, what more could you ask!!!

Stopped by on the way back to the hotel in Melbourne, in need of a pick me upOrdered a tea and a flat white ( how I wish Brits could make it as good as it is in Melbourne) and an apple crumble muffinHeaven
