Portello Rosso - Melbourne

These guys have a lot of potentialbut unfortunately misses the mark on a few things.

Portello Rosso is a hidden jewel of a place, tucked away in an alley.

I'll start by saying the food was very good. Those lamb ribs are a must. Everything was tasty but we don't feel it's value for money when you compare the pricing for the portion size. Service was also good considering it was almost a full house. Food came out quickly which is a bonus. We're glad we tried it and can definitely say the food is delicious but we won't be back.

On a recent trip to Melbourne, a friend and I decided to eat the very best food we could find - and we found it here at Portello Rosso! Every plate was absolutely scrumptious. We ordered off the menu rather than the degustation, and I would recommend the same for all who visit. We ordered as we ate our way through the menu, and rolled out of there some time later, over full but completely sated. The waitstaff are fabulous. They were attentive, but not pushy.
