Grabbed a quick snack (nuggets & chips, kiddy size). generous serve, nicely flavoured. friendly service. will have to go back to try other stuff!
After a big morning of swimming we decided to treat our daughter (coeliac) to some fish and chips. We had heard about Sweet Salt through the coeliac community but had never been here before. We probably brought more than we needed! We all loved the food and my daughter especially loved the gluten free potato cakes and dim sims. The rest of us had the burgers which were fantastic (I had the crispy barramundi burger).Service was great, clean and tidy and the chef did a great job talking his staff through what had to be cooked in desperate fryers etc. well done guys!
Fish & chips establishments are all around, but a place that can do a good job of grilled salmon at a reasonable price gets my attention. I've had that dish here several times, and it keeps me coming back. Purchasing the set allows you a choice of salad + chips or rice. I choose the coconut rice, which is a delicious companion to the salmon. I've tried several of the salads; all were good. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic, which makes for a happy atmosphere. I'll be back again, for sure.
I think we went to Sweet Salt after receiving a brochure in the letterbox. We dined alfresco, which really isn't a great experience in most parts of High Street. The food was, in our opinion, average suburban fish and chips and nothing more. With many equally good fish and chip shops closer to home, we wouldn't bother going back. If it was really local to us, there'd be no reason not to go there though.
